LEVEL 2 NVQ CERTIFICATE IN SPECIALIST INSTALLATION OCCUPATIONS

The  Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Specialist Installation Occupations (Construction) qualification will provide candidates with a nationally recognized qualification for working in the ever-changing world of construction, as well as the built environment sector. This qualification sets you up for success across many different areas as they are designed in order to assess and develop workplace occupational competence.

Entry Requirements

​

There are no formal requirements for this qualification. However, There could be initial assessments done in order to discover candidates’ skills and knowledge in order to identify any gaps in order to better plan the assessments later.

Mandatory Units

​

M/508/6537: Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace, Level 1

T/508/6538: Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace, Level 2

Y/508/6533: Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace, Level 2

Additional Units

​

Each of the six different pathways for this qualification has their own additional units that may need to be completed to advance.

Different Pathways

​

This qualification comes with six different pathways that candidates can follow. They are Roof Lining Systems, Joint Sealant Application, Point of Purchase, Industrial Storage Systems – Maintenance and Repair, Industrial Storage Systems - Inspection, and Loading Bay Equipment – Installation or Maintenance.

Assessments

​

This qualification has assessments based on competency. This means that candidates must demonstrate a certain level of competence throughout the units. This is assessed through measuring of their skills, knowledge, and understanding of the standards set out in the qualification units.

This is assessed within the work environment, and done so in accordance with the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment.

Along with these assessments, candidates must produce a portfolio that shows evidence of their demonstrated achievements throughout each unit. This portfolio can include worksheets, candidate products, witness testimony, assignments, project, reports, among others.

Duration

​

This Level 2 certificate has a total qualification time of 300 hours (minimum), depend on the candidate.
