LEVEL 2 NVQ CERTIFICATE IN WOOD OCCUPATIONS

The completion of this Level 2 certificate qualification will leave successful candidates with enhanced skills and knowledge of all things needed to move ahead with a career in any wood-based position in the construction and built environment industry.

With ProQual Awarding Body as the awarder of this qualification, and the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation as the regulatory body, this certificate will leave you with a nationally recognized certificate.

Entry Requirements

​

There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Wood Occupations. However, it is recommended that training centres have an initial assessment in order to determine candidates’ existing skills and knowledge.

Mandatory Units

​

A/503/1170: Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace, Level 1

J/503/1169: Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace, Level 2

F/503/1171: Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace, Level 2

Additional Units

​

Each of the three different paths available for this Level 2 certificate qualification have their own recommended and additional units.

Different Pathways
 

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Wood Occupations has three different pathways that candidates can follow. The paths are Wheelwrighting, Shopfitting Site Work, Shopfitting Bench Work.

Assessments

​

This qualification is based on a pass/fail system, with an internal assessment being verified by training centre staff, as well as an external quality assurance which is done by ProQual verified instructors.

The candidates must show a demonstrable knowledge and skill set when it comes to the standards set out within each unit.

Each candidate is also required to put together a portfolio that demonstrates their achievement of learning. This portfolio can contain assignments, projects, reports, as well as record of oral and written questionings, and candidate test papers.

Duration

The total qualification time of this certificate is 360 hours, with about 170 guided learning hours, depend on the candidate.
